After 30 American Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan, Big Swing in Opinion on One Question, No Change on Another.
President Barack Obama’s handling of the situation in Afghanistan went from Minus 2 in June to Minus 21 today, according to a SurveyUSA poll of greater Tampa Bay, conducted for WFLA-TV. In greater Tampa Bay, home to many military and retired military, 57% now disapprove of the way he is handling Afghanistan, up from 46% disapproval on 06/23/11. 36% today approve of Obama’s handling of Afghanistan, down from 44% on 06/23/11.
But, to the arguably much more important question of who will emerge as the winner, there is no change: A majority today, just as on 06/23/11, think there will never be a clear winner in Afghanistan. Just 14% today say America will emerge as the winner, basically unchanged from 12% who said on 06/23/11 that America would emerge as the clear winner.
