SurveyUSA is Only One of Four Pollsters Who Forsaw Possible Defeat for CA Prop 29

SurveyUSA Breaking News - 06/07/12 09:35 AM

4 pollsters polled on California Proposition 29, which would have added a tax on cigarettes to pay for cancer research. The election was held 06/05/12. The outcome is not yet known; 200,000 absentee ballots remain to be counted, but here is the polling landscape as of this hour.

Six days before the election, SurveyUSA and the Los Angeles Times separately released polls on Proposition 29. SurveyUSA wrote: “Proposition 29 Could Go Either Way.” The Los Angeles times wrote that Prop 29 would pass by 29 points. Other distinguished pollsters — Field and PPIC — were in between.

SurveyUSA is proud of its work on ballot measures in California and elsewhere. Polling ballot measures is tricky, but no pollster brings to to the table a greater breadth and depth of experience than does SurveyUSA.
