Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #10611

Perlmutter Poised to Pick-Up CO7 Beauprez House Seat for Democrats: In an election for U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado's 7th Congressional District today, 11/1/06, Democrat Ed Perlmutter appears almost certain to defeat Republican Rick O'Donnell, according to a SurveyUSA poll of 589 Likely Voters conducted exclusively for KUSA-TV in Denver. Today's results are strikingly similar to an identical SurveyUSA tracking poll released 6 weeks ago. Then, Perlmutter led by 17. Today, by 16. Perlmutter is at 54% in both polls. O'Donnell was at 37% then, 38% now. All Demographic sub-populations are stable. The House seat is open: incumbent Republican Congressman Bob Beauprez is running for Colorado Governor this year. Republicans have a 29-seat majority in the House, which they seek to maintain. Democrats see this open seat as an opportunity to pick up a seat in Congress, and regain control.

Filtering: 800 Registered Voters from Colorado's 7th Congressional District were interviewed 10/29/06 through 10/31/06. Of them, 589 were judged to be "likely" voters. Crosstabs reflect Likely Voters.

If the election were today, and you were standing in the voting booth right now, who would you vote for? Republican Rick O'Donnell? Democrat Ed Perlmutter? Green Party candidate Dave Chandler? American Constitution Party candidate Roger McCarville? Or some other candidate?
