Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #13882

Six Months Out, Obama Beats McCain in State of Washington: If Washington state voters were filling out their November ballots right now, Democrat Barack Obama would beat Republican John McCain by 12 points, according to this SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KING-TV in Seattle. Obama defeats McCain 54% to 42% today; if Hillary Clinton is the nominee, she edges McCain, 49% to 45%; the 4-point lead is just outside the survey's margin of sampling error. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released four weeks ago, there is no statistically significant movement; then, Obama lead McCain by 13 and Clinton lead McCain by 3.

Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Washington adults; of the adults, 795 identified themselves as being registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 659 identified themselves as being likely to vote in the general election. 37 of Washington's 39 counties vote exclusively by mail; ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day, November 4.
