Inhofe Remains On Top in Oklahoma US Senate Race, But Contest Tightens Slightly: In an election for United States Senator from Oklahoma today, 09/30/08, Republican incumbent Jim Inhofe defeats Democratic State Senator Andrew Rice 53% to 37%, according to this latest exclusive KFOR-TV poll conducted by SurveyUSA. Independent Steven Wallace takes 7% of the vote. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released three weeks ago, Inhofe is down 3 points; Rice is up 3 points.

Inhofe leads among men and women, among voters age 35+, among college graduates and those who did not attend college, among both rich and poor. 30% of Democrats cross over to vote for Republican Inhofe, who was first elected in a 1994 special election. Independents are tied. Inhofe is seeking his third full term.

Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Oklahoma adults 09/28/08 and 09/29/08. Of the adults, 794 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 656 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election.

Oklahoma voters will also elect a United States Senator. If the election for United States Senator were today, would you vote for (choices rotated) Republican Jim Inhofe? Democrat Andrew Rice? Or Independent Stephen Wallace?
