Udall Has 15-Point Lead in NM Race for US Senate: In an election for United States Senate in New Mexico today, 09/17/08, Democrat Tom Udall defeats Republican Steve Pearce 56% to 41%, according to this latest exclusive KOB-TV poll conducted by SurveyUSA.

Udall, who represents New Mexico's 3rd Congressional District in the United States House, takes a majority of votes among men and women, young and old. Among Hispanic voters, Udall leads by 35 points. Among whites, Udall and Pearce tie. Pearce, who represents New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District, keeps 77% of Republican votes. Udall keeps 81% of Democratic votes; independents break 2:1 for Udall.

 
Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 New Mexico adults 09/14/08 through 09/16/08. Of them, 802 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 671 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election.
