| OR-01: Wu Has Advantage in Bid For 7th Term: In an election for US House of Representatives in Oregon's 1st Congressional District today, 10/19/10, incumbent Democrat David Wu defeats Republican business consultant Rob Cornilles 51% to 42%, according to this latest exclusive KATU-TV poll conducted by SurveyUSA.
Wu, first elected in 1998, is at or above 50% among voters both male and female, young and old, and with incomes both above and below $50K. Cornilles leads 3:2 among those who say they are more enthusiastic about voting this year as compared to other years, and leads 5:3 among those who say they rarely vote in midterm elections. Wu leads 2:1 among those who say they are no more or less enthusiastic in 2010, and leads 5:4 among those who vote more frequently in midterms. Each candidate holds roughly 4 in 5 of his party's voters; independents are split. |
| Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 700 registered voters from Oregon's 1st Congressional District were interviewed by SurveyUSA 10/16/10 through 10/18/10 using Registration Based Sample (RBS) from Aristotle. Of the registered voters, 602 were identified by SurveyUSA as having already filled out their ballots or being likely to vote in the 11/02/10 general election. The election is 100% by mail; ballots were mailed on 10/15/10. |
