| Results of SurveyUSA News Poll #26435 |
| With Memories of Buffalo Tops Shooting and Uvalde School Shooting Less Sharp, NY Support for Gun Softens, While Remaining Strong:
Compared to when SurveyUSA posed many of the same questions two months ago, New York adults today have slightly reduced their support for "common sense" gun control measures, though that support does still remain strong, according to SurveyUSA's latest polling conducted exclusively for WNYT-TV in Albany. 63% today say gun laws, in general, should become more strict; 21% say they should stay the same as they are; 9% say they should become less strict. Two months ago, 71% said laws should become more strict. Percentage saying they would strongly support each of the following, along with the change from the previous poll:

| About the Poll: SurveyUSA interviewed a total of 1,200 New York adults online 08/17/22 through 08/21/22, using sample provided by Lucid Holdings LLC of New Orleans. The pool of adult survey respondents was weighted to US Census targets for gender, age, race, education, and home ownership. |
