In Head-to-Head 2020 Match-Ups Against Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Michelle Obama Outperform Any of California's Home-Grown Talent;
Zuckerberg's Appeal Plummets After Particularly Brutal Month; Traditional Out-of-State Democratic Politicians Are Barely Known in Golden State:

California has as deep a bench of traditional politicians and non-traditional celebrity wanna-be politicians as at any time in the state's rich history. Yet Washington DC Beltway insiders Joe Biden and Michelle Obama run stronger against President Donald Trump than any of California's home-grown talent, according to SurveyUSA's latest exclusive poll conducted for KABC-TV Los Angeles, KPIX-TV San Francisco, KGTV-TV San Diego, and KFSN-TV Fresno.

* Former Vice President Biden defeats Trump by 23 points in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up today, 56% to 33%. Former First Lady Michelle Obama defeats Trump by 21 points today, 57% to 36%. Everyone else on the Democrats' radar does worse. Specifically:

* Current CA Governor Jerry Brown and current United States Senator from California Kamala Harris both defeat Trump today by 19 points --- 54% to 35% in each case.

* Entertainer Oprah Winfrey and movie star Tom Hanks both defeat Trump today by 17 points.

* Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti defeats Trump today by 15 points, 49% to 34%.

* United States Senator from New York Kirsten Gillibrand defeats Trump today by 14 points, 47% to 33%.

* United States Senator from New Jersey Cory Booker, United States Senator from Ohio Sherrod Brown, and United States Senator from Louisiana Mitch Landrieu all squeak by Trump today by the narrowest of margins. And Deval Patrick, the former Governor of Massachusetts, is the only Democrat tested who does not defeat Trump --- though Patrick does run even with the incumbent President, 34% each.

* Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who defeated Trump by 19 points in a SurveyUSA poll 2 months ago, defeats Trump by 6 points today, a 13-point loss of momentum, following revelations that Facebook may have been slow to act in response to Russian attempts to use the social media platform to sow disarray in America.

* Garcetti is the only Democrat who runs nominally stronger in April 2018 than in January 2018 against Trump. Garcetti led by 14 points in January, leads by 15 points today, a difference that may well be statistical "noise," and not meaningful. Harris, Winfrey, and Hanks all run weaker in April than in January. SurveyUSA tracking graphs, with time-series data broken down by demographic sub-population, are available wherever you see the Triangle-T logo.

* President Trump's Net Job Approval Rating in California today is Minus 31 --- just 30% of voters statewide approve of the job the President is doing, compared to 61% who disapprove.

* Vice President Mike Pence's Net Job Approval Rating in California today is Minus 16 --- 34% of voters statewide approve of the job Pence is doing, compared to 50% who disapprove.

About: SurveyUSA interviewed 882 registered voters from the state of California 03/22/18 through 03/25/18. In this newest set of results, 41% of registered voters are Democrats, 29% are Republicans. In January's SurveyUSA poll of California, 40% of registered voters were Democrats, 30% were Republicans. Elizabeth Warren, Democratic Senator from Massachusetts, was not included in April's head-to-head pairings after announcing in March that she would not run for President in 2020.
