New Jersey to Chris Christie: Paddle Your Own Canoe. By 2:1, New Jersey residents say New Jersey Governor Chris Christie should not run for President of the United States, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WABC-TV New York.

* While 67% of Republicans say Christie is qualified to be President of the United States, just 50% of Republicans say he should run. By contrast, 18% of Democrats say Christie is qualified to be President, 13% of Democrats say Christie should run. When all NJ adults are combined, 29% say run, 59% say don't. When just those who voted for Christie in 2009 are examined, half say run, half say don't.

* 78% of Republicans say Christie would be a better President than Barack Obama, compared to 19% of Democrats and 44% of Independents.

* 54% of New Jersey adults approve of the job Christie is doing as Governor, 40% disapprove, a Net Approval number of Plus 14.

* When SurveyUSA put the question of a Christie presidential bid to voters in the state of Florida, a critical swing state and early 2012 Primary state, there too, voters by 2:1 tell Christie to stay out of the race.
