Obama Steady, 2:1 Atop McCain, in Empire State: In an election for President of the United States in New York state today, 10/29/08, six days until votes are counted, Democrat Barack Obama defeats Republican John McCain 62% to 33%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WABC-TV New York, WGRZ-TV Buffalo, WNYT-TV Albany, and WHEC-TV Rochester. Obama takes the majority of the vote among both men and women, across all age groups, and among all ethnic groups. 1 in 3 Republicans cross-over to vote for Obama. 800 New York adults were interviewed 10/27/08 and 10/28/08. Of them, 724 were registered to vote. Of them, 633 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the general election. |
