On Eve of Iowa Caucus, 5 Weeks Till Evergreen State Primary, Sanders & Biden Are Democratic Party Favorites, Followed
By Warren & Bloomberg. 2 of 3 Likely Voters May Change Mind; 33% Statewide Say Trump Will Be Re-Elected in 2020:

If the Washington State Democratic Primary were today, Bernie Sanders at 26% would edge Joe Biden at 21%, Elizabeth Warren at 16%, and Mike Bloomberg at 12%, according to SurveyUSA research conducted exclusively for KING-TV in Seattle.

But that is in a primary today. The reason why 2/3rds of likely democratic primary voters in Washington state say they may change their mind, is that between now and when Washington State voters must return their ballots, 18 states will vote or caucus first, starting immediately with Iowa and culminating a month from now, on Super Tuesday, when Democrats from the Atlantic to the Pacific will help narrow the field of candidates and provide Washington State voters with a reality-based narrative of who is hot and who is not.

At this hour, in Washington State, Pete Buttigieg at 8%, Andrew Yang at 4%, Amy Klobuchar at 3% and Tom Steyer at 2% have single-digit support. Because it is possible that sitting US Senators Sanders, Warren and Klobuchar may still be sitting in the Senate chambers in March, and because Mike Bloomberg is intentionally sitting out the 1st four contests, it is unknowable how the Democratic field will shake out.

Among white voters, Biden and Sanders tie. Sanders' strength among Washington state's Asian community, where Sanders leads Biden by 20 points, helps keep him on top. As expected, Sanders runs strong among those in Washington state who identify as "very liberal" --- Sanders leads fellow-progressive Warren 31% to 27% in this group. But as impressive, Sanders, who is not moderate by any definition, leads among moderate likely voters 27% to 23% over Biden.

About: SurveyUSA interviewed 1,400 Washington state adults 01/26/20 through 01/28/20. Of the adults, 1,186 are registered to vote. Of the registered voters, SurveyUSA identified 536 likely to vote in the 03/10/20 Democratic primary. This research was conducted online.

2Washington State will hold a presidential primary on March 10. Voters will receive a ballot in the mail in a couple of weeks. Not everyone has a chance to vote in a primary. Which best describes you? I am not interested in politics; I will not vote? I'm not sure whether I will have time to vote? I am almost certain I'll find time to vote? Or I'm absolutely 100% certain I will vote?
