| More Share Obama's World View Than Romney's Or Santorum's: SurveyUSA asked 1,300 registered voters from across all 50 states which Presidential candidate's view of the world more closely matched their own.
* Asked to choose between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, 49% said Obama's view of the world is closer to their own; 35% said Romney's view is closer to theirs. Women say Obama's view is closer to their own than Romney's by a 20 point margin, and closer to their own than Santorum's by 22 points. Men say Obama's view is closer to their own than either Romney's or Santorum's by identical 9-point margins. |
| Cell phone respondents and home phone respondents included in this research. 1,459 adults from the entire United States were interviewed by SurveyUSA 02/22/12. Of them, 1,300 were registered to vote and asked the questions that appear here. This research was conducted using blended sample, mixed mode. Respondents reachable on a home telephone (74% of registered voters) were interviewed on a home telephone in the recorded voice of a professional announcer. Respondents unreachable on a home telephone (26% of registered voters) were shown a questionnaire on their smartphone, tablet, laptop or other electronic device. In this research, cell phone and home phone respondents respond differently. Example: Cell phone respondents say Obama's world view is closer to their own than Santorum's by 40 points; Landline respondents say Obama's view is closer to their own than Santorum's by 8 points. |
